Matt is a 20 year old gentleman from Sunderland in the North East of England.
He has developed this website as a way for you to find out about him; his life, his achievements, his experiences, and his goals. Over time, Matt hopes to expand on many of the points found on this website in order to make it a true reflection of him and his life as a whole.
Matt has Asperger’s Syndrome, a high-functioning form of Autism. This affects his social communication, social interaction, and social imagination (the ‘Triad of Impairments’).
In real life, this translates as having difficulty understanding gestures, facial expressions or tone of voice; being very literal in what he says; struggling to make and maintain friendships; not understanding the unwritten ‘social rules‘ that most of us pick up without thinking; behaving in what may seem an inappropriate manner; and having difficulty understanding or interpreting other peoples thoughts, feelings or actions.
